Exported the video straight from X3d in H264...checked the codec in VLC and it reads the same BUT the playback is blocky, staggered (i.e losing frames left right and centre) and utterly useless for me.
You have to select the desired bitrate you want and the resolution of the image. Also what type are you exporting to?
Bit rate is not automatically chosen for you. I did an MPEG4 export with a source video and got perfect encoding of the video when I chose an appropriate bit rate. Here is a link to a bitrate calculator you can use to choose something appropriate to your needs. http://www.3ivx.com/support/calculator/
Before you write off the video support please try working with the video export parameters. In the future we might enhance the export dialog a bit but this first cut has a simple user interface.
I would suggest that this interface has a worse User interface than using a Bitrate calculator as it goes.
What source video were you using out of interest? I have double checked my bitrates in both audio and video (I am used to Premiere and FCP when working with Editors so I know how to fiddle about to make this work) but still out of Sonar to no avail.
Also, how does one explain that some of my old projects where I could import MOVs in Hi Res no problem now refuse to work with either video engine within Sonar? I havent dared open up Premiere yet to see if my entire workflow has crashed and burnt but I am far from impressed.
Maybe this new Engine is great for people pumping out little homemade music videos or whatever but I was under the impression that we would be getting an update remotely near to PT which simply hasnt happened, much to my sadness in that respect.
