Could you please update your footer like mine to show your system specs, you are confusing me greatly with your scenario.
You need to be running and testing X3D from next week onwards, and not standing back and commenting from a previous version (nobody will take you seriously), otherwise I wouldn't expect too much for the future. So a demo will be coming out soon that will help you perhaps.

any danger of a demo version yet?

We'll have more info on demo coming soon. Obviously, we want it to be based on SONAR X3d.

thanks for replying

just try running multiple VSTis with MIDI out enabled, that much is obvious from the old posts, you don't need system specs ;-)

I just read that thread. seems like cake is trying the best they can but understand something. you said it yourself,
"don't you have 1 bug you wish could be fixed"
that is a loaded question, how are you going to please everyone, you cant.
you can please the majority. the reason there are so many daws out there is because people work in different ways.

your never going to please everyone, but making an effort to try and please the majority is a great feat in itself.

SilkToneTo those people complaining about my posts, I have a serious question for you... Everyone has some set of Sonar bugs that they wish could get fixed. In most cases they are just annoyances and there are ways to work around them. But now imagine there are a few bugs in Sonar that absolutely prevents you from using it altogether, what would you say? Nothing? Now imagine that goes on for 5 years. Now what would you say?

Silkwood, I am genuinely curious about which bugs would TOTALLY prevent you from using Sonar? If you don't mind me saying it all sounds a bit dramatic. I am genuinely prepared to be enlightened. However, if I ever encountered such a situation, I would not keep paying for upgrades for years without checking that whatever 'showstopper' bug or bugs were resolved before shelling out.... Garry Kiosk

Garry, this issue has been rehashed endlessly (if you want to see the gory details, read this thread). The short version is that if you rely on VSTi plugins that send MIDI events out, you will get crosstalk into other tracks when you record on them (say from an external MIDI controller). In addition, if you have more than 1 VSTi sending MIDI events out, Sonar will crash. There are no workarounds for these two issues. I absolutely rely on more than one VSTi sending MIDI events out, and since Sonar can't handle this I'm forced to use another DAW that can.

I do a lot of work with MIDI hardware... Tho I have a few issues with it, I can always find a way to make it work... I'd have to see the exact situations you're referring to but it sounds as tho simply using a second MIDI track with data copied to it might get the job done... Or something along these lines...

I do not dismiss that there have been and likely still are some issues related to this, but certainly not enough to stop the program being capable of getting the work done...

I have had many simple and many extreme issues with Cakewalk's software over all their' years, but I've always gotten my work done. Currently I scream (inside) most of the day because of zoom issues and lanes (ugh!), but it does not stop my ability to get the work done... Internal as well as external!

I remember many girlfriends over the years always telling me how they're personal problems are because their mom/dad did/didn't do something for the first 20 years of their life... All I can say 20 years later is why is it taking you so long to fix something you know about? Shame on you! At least your folks didn't know or understand, or possibly not be capable of...?

I say this trying to be gentle as I do not mean to offend you...

I would be happy to brainstorm this with you and find a solution...? Please feel free to PM me...

I asked politely, knowing what people have when I interact with them is important to me in these forums. Thankyou.

so you won't try to reproduce unless he updates his sig? lol

I have not upgraded to a newer version since X1 since I can't use Sonar while these bugs exist, hence relying on other people to verify whether it has been fixed. I did pay for upgrades for 3 years after reporting it based on promises that CW was looking into the bugs and it will be fixed. After 3 years I got tired of doing that just to find out each time that the bugs still have not been fixed. I'm not paying for a single upgrade again until I can verify these bugs have truly been fixed. Is that unreasonable of me? I'm hoping for an X3d demo so I can verify it myself. If not I'll have to rely on what other people report back.

Those are your words which I suspect are designed to provoke, I have already politely requested stating my reasons. I don't wish to be confused,

yeah but the bug is reproducible, sig or no, it seems like an avoidance tactic, take it how you like, it's the internet :)
