Hi all,

Well, I have just installed X3d 64-bit upgrade, tested out a project I have ongoing from X3c, and all runs fine. However, I have read all the release notes prior to performing the upgrade, but still have three questions and would appreciate any feedback from others.

1. When I ran X3d for the first time, the VST scan reported 4 new VST's. Subsequent checking of my browser list in X3 reveals nothing new at all. I did note an upgrade to Melodyne was incorporated in the update, which could possibly account for one update, so whats that all about?

2. When I hit the insert new synth button in the browser, the drop down menu hightlights Insert synth or Insert Rewire device. Upon selecting insert synth, I see a sub menu choice of VST2 or Direct X, but no VST3?. I dont want to have to roll back to my X3c restore point I made just to check if I dont have to, but didn't Melodyne Single Track previously appear as a VST3 option? Melodyne Singletrack now only appears as an 'Insert ReWire device'  option. Is that correct?

3. In the drop down menu of VST plug-ins, they all appear as as black text on grey background. Again, didn't 32-bit plug-ins previously highlight in a different colour / shading to prevent incorrect selection?

Yes, I have performed a manual, second VST scan after closing and restarting X3d.

The install went very sweetly, and gave no indication of any glitches or errors, and performance is good, so I am reluctant to rollback and re-install until I get some feedback on the points above some of you guys,

So, can anyone check on their X3d install please, and enlighten me. It would be appreciated.

Regards

I also found the VST detection reported changes that weren't there. Mine indicated 30 new plugs but I added nothing.

I still see 32 bit plugs highlighted in green.

1. I did not look that closely but I believe the Quad Curve was updated and the date on the console emulation is newer.
2. Other than rewire, Melodyne should not have been in synths. It should be in VST3 effects. It may have been moved to the proper location when the rescanned.
3. Colors in the effect and synth browsers only not the menus.

You need to do a RESET followed by a rescan (in the same preferences area).  Not just a scan.
Cheers...

I am not sure reset/rescan is necessary for this update. I did not bother this time and everything seems fine.

Hi Alex, I have performed the complete reset, and re-scanned. Same results. 32-bit plugs not colour highlighted like they were with X3c...

Hi Amp, I can see my 32-bit plugs, but the layout is all monochrome as it always was pre X3 - really dont understand that, as I have reset VST plugs under preferences, and rescanned...very odd, and a little annoying to say the least.

Hi Scook, Yes, I concede this one, it is showing up in track effects menu as a VST3 choice. I got confused as to where it was before the latest upgrade patch.

Are you seeing the monochrome display in the Browser vs. the drop-down menus?

The browser is the only place where the 64bit blue/32bit green plug-in layout exists. The menus are monochrome like they always have been.
