Taking into account that you were restricted to one sample this is a great ambient track. I could see this as an underscore for a film/documentary. Good stuff.

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for having a listen to Void

Like you say, from one sample, I was surprised what is possible. I must add that my inspiration came from the other entries for this little challenge

cheers

Hi James

Yeah, so was I... And I'm still being surprised. It's an avenue I have always poo poo'd before, sample mangling, but it has turned out to be a pile of fun for me, and helped me get my "creative juices" flowing...

I'm now working on another piece, with the same sample and same restrictions, but this time I have tuned the tonal samples and brought them into Absynth 5, so now I can compose something with MIDI, which is what I am used to.

Thanks for listening James

Very interesting, i downloaded the sample... what you have done was inspiring to me.

it would be cool to have a beat to make a fat rhythm movement
kick and so forth to make a " drum"  track .
there's some spots in the " sample " that could be used as drums.

Would be cool with something like a boomy low end

*0:06-07 ( at the end of 0:06 ) maybe as a hihat
* 0:09 -10 sek could be used as a snare
* 0:42 sec a kick

I need to have a look into this.

btw, here's a free time stretch vst plugin : wok Instretch and a Video

Time to try Sonar and this plugin and chop the sample in bits ;-)

Wow, Andy, this reminds me of the days when I road the rails.  It has a very hypnotic effect.  It should be the background of a film or video.  May you keep rolling them out.

I need to learn more about this sound mangling of which you speak. Omnisphere 2 lets you use your own samples, but I haven't tried it yet...
