Thanks for all of the responses.  Right now I'm running X2d.  It still has some bugs that I have learned to live with.  I guess the updates came so fast on X3 I wondered if they rolled it out too soon.  I think I will still wait until the end of the year but is sounds like many are satisfied with X3.  The color coding is long overdue.  That in itself would be a welcomed site.

SONAR X3c is very stable and we will continue to do more updates. If you like the features in SONAR X3, I would say jump in and start using it today.

I didn't think the color option would be such a show stopper. I mean the ****ing I read about this here in the forums because the new X series lacked true color customization I thought was just overblown.

But now that I have it...

Yes I am well satisfied with this program.

DAW software isn't nearly as complex as 3D animation software, but it comes close enough that I think it's unrealistic to expect a bug-free version. I think the only way it would even be possible to come close would be if the developers went really-really old school and created a small loader app that booted the OS to the curb and commandeered the entire machine from CPUs to USB ports while the DAW software was running. It wouldn't be impossible, but it would take some doing.
On the bright side, it would mean no more distinction between Mac, Linux and Windows versions. Only the loader app would be OS-specific. Also, latency would be practically impossible.
It's nice to dream, at least.

I bought it yesterday and downloaded all the plugs and updates. Took several hours. I got up this morning and installed. I installed X3 and just the new features. Then I went ahead and did the updates.
It's running so good it scares me! Latency is so much better! The only problems I have had so far has been the Console Emulator noise on mono track, which everyone is aware of at this point. Turned off the 64 bit precision engine and VOILA! Quiet as a mouse.
This feels like the best version of the X series, Hands Down!
Barring it having any major problems with your system I say GET IT NOW! I'm sure that they will iron out the Console Emulator problem by the next update.
I am thoroughly impressed with the way that Cake is handling this launch! Thumbs Up For The Bakers!

That certainly seems to be the general consensus!    When was the last time that happened?
