I have a Intel I5-2430 CPU @ 2.4Gi, with 8 Gi RAM. Is this adequate for X3 ? I'm currently running X2.

Thanks, yes I saw that the Sonar X3 requirements were:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.67 GHz / AMD Phenom Quad Core 9750 2.4 Ghz or higher
That's why I originally posted.

I'm not that familiar with the processors so I guess the real question is my " Intel I5-2430 CPU @ 2.4Gi, with 8 Gi RAM",  equivalent to or greater than the above. I think the I5 is a 4 core.

Starting at this page:
I was able to get a Comparison between my processor and the Core 2 Duo E8200:

The Intel i5-2430M is 34% faster in single-threaded programs.
  • Multi-threaded performance of the processor is 56% better.
  • The i5-2430M performs 72% faster when running memory-intensive tasks.
So the bottom line is that I should be fine with X3. The 2430 is a dual core not quad core as I thought earlier..

That should be fine, from a CPU and memory perspective.  The i3, i5, and i7 processors should all be OK.

Sorry - guess we can't post links,  I got the processor comparison  data from cpuworld.com/Compare

If you are running X2 ok, then you can run X3 ok. There are also minuend requirements listed, but a pc with lower specs than listed can also run X3. It just depends on the track count, soft synths used and effects used.

To only know for use, you will need to run X3, as every PC is different with thousands of variables. Even if you have the same PC as someone running X3, your projects and sound card drivers and the driver configurations will be different.

You will be fine.
