On the other hand, THIS "gem" is - by design - tasteless ripping, written entirely for the silly bass solo gag in the middle:

A little 80s?

Right, back to the drawing board then! Spandex pants on order, blonde streaked mullet booked in at the hair salon, and extra pointy fins and leopard spots being added to my guitar. We Shall Rebuild!

In all honesty, that was awesome. It kind of reminded me of Jeff Loomis' solo works or even Petrucci's stuff. Really awesome playing, everything sounded nice. The cheese platters were the proverbial cherry on top. The video was awesome, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great job Lord Tim.

Wow, quite the compliment being compared to Jeff's stuff! We did some shows with Nevermore when they toured down here a couple of times and Jeff and Chris were just jaw droppingly good. Really good people too. :)

I can't believe you did shows with them, that's crazy. I see you didn't mention Warrel, was that on purpose? :P.

I'm a classical guitarist but I hope to dedicate some time to the craft of metal guitar. This video definitely inspired me to take another step in that direction.

Oh, no no - all of the guys, including Warrell, were great. I was just mentioning guitarists before. :)

I have pretty good memories of the first time they came down here for a little club tour in 2000 (or thereabouts). It was one of our first supports with an international band aside from Yngwie Malmsteen (now THERE'S an... interesting guy. *cough*). They wander into the bar and go "Hi, we're from America. Can you give us beer?" We knew right away the show was gonna be awesome! HAHA!
