I'm confused.
I own Producer X2  and got a mailing today that says I can get X3 for $49.
Is this the same as upgrading from X2 Pro to X3 Pro or is X3 a totally different program?

X3 is the basic version replacing the Essential line. The X2 Producer upgrade to X3 Producer is $149. Here is the comparison page for the three versions of X3 http://www.cakewalk.com/p..cts/sonar/versions.aspx

No. There's X3, X3 Studio, and X3 Producer. Regular X3 doesn't even have pro channel, if I remember right. X2 Producer owners can upgrade to X3 Producer for $149.
