Hi, I have Sonar X2 and faound Cinematic Timeshift soundscapes and effects in a online shop. This is a collection of sounds that I could use, but I am not sure if it can be used with my X2 - as this package is in ELASTIK format?

Does anyone know?

Elastic is not just the sample file format, it's the name of a player plugin by Ueberschall.

It's a VST plugin which is a plugin format that Sonar uses.

Just google Elastik File and you'll get lots of useful references.

Welcome to the forum.
I bet you need Ueberschalls Elastik Player to use them.

Aha, thank you mudgel and Kalle! I downloaded Elastik player, bought the sound package and everything is working perfect :-)

How do you like it so far?    I downloaded the free player (and a soundbank) a while ago but never got around to installing it.

I'm a fan of the Ueberschall libraries. They have a learning curve compared to other engines, and they demand more of the user because for best results you play them instead of just press "play" and go, but the tradeoff is you get to put your individual stamp on them and the loops become more improvisational...kind of like the Matrix view. Their mix and match "Inspire" soundbanks are very cool.

I like the player and soundbank so far, I have not been able to explore it a lot yet - but can see that it has a lot of potential for the music I make. I like that I can modify the sounds/loops in several ways and I also like that it is easy to listen and sync sound samples and you can combine sounds.

Cool, I'll have to load it up!    Thanks.
