Trying to record a few takes of solo guitar, but Sonar stops responding windows shuts it down with error message mentioning bitbridge, now I do have Sampletank in this project which is 32 bit so guess thats what is bitbridged can I bridge this in a different way, and How??????.
Thanks for any help Roy

So are you actually saying that Sampletank is crashing bitbridge (no issues with other 32 bit plugins?).
Please check your event viewer and post any error messages here.
Also is there not a 64 bit version of Sampletank available?

Cheers...

There are a couple of things to try which may make Bitbirdge more stable, open the compatibility tab on BitBridge set it to run as administrator and set XP compatibility mode.

jBridge may work better than BitBridge

Finally, run 32bit SONAR, some plug-ins do not reliably run in 64bit hosts

There is another application, called JBridge, which may work better for you, though it is not a guaranteed fix.  JBridge is I believe something like $20 - I do not know if there is any kind of trial for it.

You could also try to swap out Sample Tank until you get done with your guitar tracking, and then swap it back in, and see if that gets you past the point of trouble.  (You could also try to get rid of Sample Tank altogether in this project, after swapping for an equivalent plugin).

Lots and lots of problems are posted where 32-bit plugins in 64-bit Sonar are problematic, and a lot of people either work with 32-bit plugins in a 32-bit Sonar, and/or work to eliminate use of 32-bit plugins at all in 64-bit Sonar.

I have a very small list of 32-bit plugins that I want to hang on to, and have verified that they work OK in 64-bit Sonar for now, and I put them into a special sub-folder in my general 32-bit plugins.  ONLY that sub-folder is included in the search path for my 64-bit Sonar, and that seems to work very well for me.

Bob and Royarn there is a trail for jBridge. I highly recommend it for any 32 bit plug-ins that cause issues.

Apparently, Sampletank 3.0 will be 64-bit, although all I could find on release information was something indicating that it would be shown at NAMM 2014.

That IS good news.  By all means then, I would recommend trying JBridge, as it may be the easiest way to continue to use that particular plugin in 64-bit Sonar, and it may help other 32-bit plugins work better too.

It works quite well for most 32 bit plug-ins and synths. There were some graphics issues with it, but X3 seems to have cured that. I only have about 3 or 4 things left that are 32 bit these days, but I still use it for them.

@Royarn,

I am a bit confused.  You now mark this as solved, but do not indicate what solved it.

Did you end up using JBridge?

Did something else fix the issues?

Please detail the fix, so someone else may later find a solution for a similar issue they are having.

Thanks,

Thanks all but before I read any replies here I remembered I'd installed jbridge long time ago, went into plugin manager and figured how to change Sampletank to it, all works as expected now no crashing.
Happy bunny now.
