Just installed a fresh X3 on W8 64bit. I tested settings with the audio demo in X3. On the masterbus I saw an analyser plugin being absent. So I started the installer again. But I could not find an Analyser in the plugin section of the installer...

Can't say I saw this plugin before?

Does anybody know how to install this? I do have X2 and X1.

Perform an advanced install of X2 (or X1) to get the option to install Analyst. While you are at it, you might want to install R-Mix (and VC-64 if you want it or used it in previous projects). If you want V-Vocal, you will have to install the basic program because unlike Analyst, R-Mix and VC-64, V-Vocal is not a separately installable component.

As a + to what scook said, v-vocal seems to work better for me in X3 than in previous versions of Sonar.  The program itself has not changed, but workflow is better with the Ara integration.  The melodyne version included does not do the pitch effects that v-vocal can.  I rarely use such things, but oddly found myself needing it for a rapper who decided he wanted to sing.  I'm not sure if analyst is worht installing if that is the only thing you seek from previous versions.  The only thing I can think of it will do that other analyzers (including the one in quadcurve), including some great freebies like span, bluecat and manalyzer is a couple automation tricks.
