• SONAR
  • X3 Pro 32 bit version in W7 64 - vst scan missing synths ?

Namely at the moment, IK Sampletank and Miroslav.

Both installed to default locations and authorised. Standalones both work fine. The dll's are in the x3 vst folder along with all the others that it does pick up. If I watch the scan I can see at least one of them (Miroslav) as it scans, but when it's done it's not on the list, so I can't add to .pgl menu.  Any ideas ?

Sidestep - It would be really useful if Sonar could (optionally) log VST scans so we could tell what is going on. I'm going to put this in as a feature request right now...

I looked up the Sample Tank one, it appears to be a VST-compliant plugin.

Did you look in the VST2 category of plugins in the synth rack?

Did you do a full reset and rescan after X3 install?

If you fire up the Cakewalk Plugin Manager (under Utilities), are these plugins in the Excluded list?

I have the same basic setup as the OP and all my IK synths have disappeared. I can still see Amplitube 3. I've rebooted, rescanned, started Sonar as administrator, tried X2. The IK synths run ok in standalone mode, and the vsti folder is located in the same place as lots of other vsti's that load as expected. The IK instruments also load into FL Studio, and I've done the other things that Bob advises (except I'm not sure what you mean by a "full reset"). Any more suggestions?

Thanks for replying...

Yes, they both are indeed VST compliant - they work just fine in 8.5 PE on XP32.

No they are not showing in VST2 list.

I'm not sure what you mean about doing a "full" reset, but I have re-scanned all vst folders many times since x3 install - those synths I installed both before and after are working fine.

No they are not in the excluded list. In my .pgl file in the plug in manager, they are there, but greyed out .

Well, I guess thanks for trying to help Bob and scook  but I did the reset thing and now I've got a whole load more plug ins that worked just fine that are now no longer authorized and / or missing soundbanks, so now I've got a whole lot of work to do just to get back to where I already was.

Too late in the day here to get into repairing all that now, so I'll save that little treat for tomorrow. Forget I asked.
