has anyone managed to get a vs20 to work in windows 10 ? it show up in unknown devices but I cant get it to recofnise even the windows 8 drivers
It was working happily in windows  8.1 and sonar producer x3, but after a system crash  ( dead drive) ive replaced the drive and decided to give win 10 and sonar platinum a try. My fast track solo works but I miss having access to faders and hardware stop start record etc controls on the vs20. ive seen some hacks to get a vs100 working and was wondering if there is anything similar for the vs20 ( discontinued so I don't ever expect to see real win 10 driver)

I got the VS20 to work with the driver workaround, but sadly it seems that Roland have no future plans to issue a Windows 10 driver for this. However, the workaround caused problems with some MIDI devices.

I'm pig sick as I really like the unit and it's only been in production for 5 years. Having hung around for nearly a month, I've decided to get something that will. As this is the last version of Windows, you'd have thought Roland would have done the business.

I didn't go with Roland though. I feel let down TBH.

My Roland duo capture MKII was working with the 8 driver the day W10 was released. Then a few days later I saw the driver would be released through Windows update from here and now on. And it updated this 8 driver itself to the new 10 driver. And it is working ever since. I connected to a different laptop. And it was in the notes. That it could take up to 10 minutes before the unit would be recognised and drivers were downloaded. Please use a new windows 10 device and see if it is recognised. If so go to system on the previous system and delete the 8 driver. And then reconnect the VS20. It will then take a while. But will be recognised and the right driver will be automatically installed.

Sadly, Roland have already made it's future quite clear. They are NOT doing a Windows 10 driver. My A300 Pro has been updated through Windows update and works fine. Well I've moved on with Windows. Hardware to follow. Bye-bye VS-20, hello Audient ID14.
