I'm having troubles getting win 10 updates KB4019472 and KB3150513 installed on my main DAW (win10 #1607).

These updates installed fine on my other PCs but either hang during the installation (windows progress bar stuck at 10%, when rebooting it takes forever) or fail when rebooting if I get it to 100% installation progress.

I tried all the solutions I could find when googling for "KB4019472 fail" i.e. troubleshooting to repair update, sfc / scannow, ... but none made a difference. 2 days ago it was just KB4019472 failing, now also KB3150513, I wonder if the updates are fully broken on that machine.  Manual download of KB4019472 also failed at the final installation at reboot ... now I'm out of ideas ...

Any suggestions ... or is this the M$ way of forcing the creators update on me?

EDIT: The final solution to get this to work was to install a previous image from last month and update from there. All other documented ways to fix the win10 update process failed!!!

See this thread, from the tenforums.com  may help with both updates.

I have absolutely no problems with the CU and Sonar on my PC.

yeah it seems there's lot's of issues with this, for example someone had to uninstall avast av to get it to install (!! https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/kb4019472-on-windows-10-will-not-install-only-10/3a214bf9-52df-48ea-909e-7ddd418b505d )
one thing to try is getting the offline installer rather than doing via wupd https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4019472
good luck!

Thanks, but I think I have meanwhile tried all suggestions in these threads including uninstalling A/V and trying offline update installation. No luck, though.

Strangely I had never had issues before with that machine and I always try the other PCs first. So i only go for updates once it worked fine on the other systems. All worked fine there, but the main one did not ...

I wouldn't give up yet, there has to be a solution.

I had a similar problem with my Windows 10 "insider" (beta) version.  I would not upgrade for a version.  I finally found a fix for it (registry hack).

KB3150513, from what I find is to give you a prompt if you want the Creators Upgrade.  Otherwise its not needed and can be "hid".

KB4019472 brings Win 10 to V1607 (the "Anniversary Update").  I see many (and different) fixes for this if it won't install.

That all sounds very frustrating!  Just wondering, did you run those troubleshooters as administrator?

And I would add, that if you don't have an account over at Ten Forums, it's worth joining.

Those guys over there can sometimes be very helpful if you post a problem, and let them try to get you sorted out.

Thanks for the info. And yes I did try as admin.

I think I will let time / M$ sort it out. It meanwhile happens on 2 PCs and repeated trials to fix it fail. It's a security update and these days it's not so good to skip these updates. However both PCs are mostly offline so it should be OK until some later updates will make this troublemaker redundant.

win10 updates turn into a major frustration ... both 2 PCs with issues now refuse to install any win10 update (no clue why), the other 3 work fine as usual

virtually tried every fix that was ever posted on a MS site. no luck. with these cumulative updates download size for every time I try is 500 MB to 1GB ...

tried to apply creators update but guess what that requires certain updates to go through first ...

went ahead and installed the C drive disk image from early May and afterwards all updates went through ...

since I'm already messing with the system so much and will have to update and test DAW apps afterwards, I might as well now go and try the creators update ...
