Walt Collins
I've been working on this one for a few months now.  I think it may be time to let it be done.  Do you guys agree?

This is a Chill/Dance electronic piece, with some spoken word mixed in.  The topic is philosophical.  Here's what I wrote about it:

The question as to whether or not we truly have Free Will is not as simple as it seems. Modern-day philosopher George Ortega explores this question in his long-running series of debates and discussions, on his two TV shows in New York. More info at his website - causalconsciousness.com/

Anyway, I'd be interested to know if it's done, or needs more home cookin'. ;)  Your time and comments are always appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Hey Walt,

Its good man.

I wouldnt invest too much more time into it, it gets the vibe across, it has a full spectrum and mixed and produced well, nothing sticks out badly.

If you wanted what could be added, a brass horn swell here and there, with create more tension. But its not a necessary addition for me.

Nice piece Walt, though I do now question what is making me write this or that? ;)

Lovely sounding mix Walt, your stuff always sounds so warm and full, yet crystal clear. Not my favourite piece of yours from a musical/thematic point of view, but its quality is undeniable.

Good stuff brutha! We'll have to start talking like hipster jazz cats if we start sounding like them! Hahaha!
Nice piece.

There isn't anyone I've heard in the downtempo genre that does it better than you, Walt. And there are lots trying.

Mix is clear, and every hit of percussive ear candy is spot on the beat. A treat to listen to.

cheers,

Walt,

I havn't heard many songs about the concept of free will, except for Rush's song of them same name, which I found  banal and uninteresting, despite the frantic, high powered instrumental. (You can't hear most of the lyrics, anyway.)

This is more of a spoken word number over a flowing rhythmic dance groove. It reminds me of Gil Scott Heron quite a bit, who was a rapper before we had that term.

This track has a really cool jazz-flavored feel with lyrics that aren't preachy- and they fit (rhythmically) the instrumental well. The repetition (in time) with delay really works.

Cool and interesting number.

Cheers,

Bert
