I just released a new album with a new band, Boolean Operators, based in Wisconsin.  I've gotten a lot of good feedback here over the years and always appreciate the critique and the technical genius of fellow forum members.  This was created completely within Sonar, from engineering to mastering, with help from some of my favorite plugins (DDMF, FabFilter, Valhalla, Izotope Iris, Z3TA2) and a lot of time just staring into the timeline, clicking around.  Enjoy:

I appreciate your avant guardrail ethic! I listened to a few and liked Gumming and Rockstar, they brought a little of Primus to my mind. I tried to hang in there with "Self Portrait with Horns" (great title) and found your changes pretty challenging! Total balls out in the songwriting dept!
 
Sounds like you guys had some fun on this one! And, as the record company executives used to say, "I'm not hearing the single!"  but I think it's "How To Live Forever." 
 
I used to dj on a radio station, and I'd definitely play this on late night radio . . .

The vocals are like a chameleon, changing colors constantly.  Goes from beautiful to scary in a heartbeat.

emeraldsoul: We definitely go all out and try to entertain as much as possible - How To Live Forever would be a single contender for sure, but if we'd been able to put out a single beforehand it would have been Rockstar and Hills as one contiguous track...obviously we aren't record executives...
 
shawn: That one's close to my heart, the first song I wrote when I moved back to Wisconsin a few years ago.
 
cwestmont: Thanks! There are two of us singing and writing - taking lead on different tracks - so that could be part of it, but it's also just a result of very specific things going on in the different songs.  Thanks again!

Interesting writing... Kind of reminds me of early Gong in places.

You definitely seem to have something fairly original happening there...   The first section of Never Gonna threw me off with its mono-ish mix, but once I started picking through I realized it was for effect.  
 
I like the way things really change from song to song - eclectic seems about right!  Although, I also think Momma stands out...

This reminds me of why I love music.  I think this is one of the most creative and entertaining pieces of music I've heard in a long while.  Thank you for this gift.  What a showcase for Sonar!

stevec: Thank you for listening!  Yes, Never Gonna was one of those tracks that was tough to approach with mixing, because a lot of the elements sit in the same frequency space and sound good there as a block, and experimenting with pans only took away from the heart of the song.  But every song is its own chance to try something new, especially on a project like this that involves two isolated songwriters contributing material.
 
Lynn: I can't think of any higher compliment than that...thank you for listening and for your words.  Whatever else we tried to do with this album, we really did want to entertain.
