Hi all.
Done with a new song, - Clown.

Love to get some feeback on the mix/sound/ballance of it.

Thanks in advance.

Nice song, great arrangement and enjoyed it very much on the whole.

It may be my crappy built in monitor speakers but there seems to be a strange flanging effect that for me detracts from the song. I will have a listen tomorrow on my studio speakers.

Thanks for yor feedback and happy you enjoyed it.

Have not used a flanger fx, but i guess it's the background guitar you hear "flanging"?
(Or the whole song/mix?)

Anders,

Cool song.    Personally I find the Lead Vocal effects a little distracting given the minimalistic background in the first verse.  Once the drums, et. al. come in, it works.  I might consider pulling back on the LVOX effects during the first verse.     Really enjoyable listen.

I wasn't going to switch on again till tomorrow evening but I was very curious as to what I was actually hearing. On my KRK's it sounds fine and what I perceived as excessive flanging seemed to disappear.

Like I said in my previous post the built in speakers on my monitor screen ain't the best. However, most non musician folks don't have the benefit having decent speakers to hand. I am no mix engineer so maybe someone else can put their finger on what I perceived earlier.

But I really enjoyed the song, looking forward to hearing more.

Hi Anders,

I like your new song

I can hear what Adrian and Mark are mentioning, on the vocals only.

What effects do you use on the vocals? Perhaps if we know what "tricks" you have applied to you vocals someone could help with this minor issue.

The backing parts sound fine to me.

cheers

Thanks for listening and your comment. There isn't much fx on the Vox, but some. I see your point about the minimalistic start. Will test it.  Good feeback.

Thx

Hi Andy.

As I said, I din't use much fx. It's a vox track with a clone panned L & R 100%, and with a slight delay on the clone to create width and a sence of echo. Then I added some Reverb on the bus both tracks are going to. (Breverb2) Other than that it's just Desser some boost. Should not have altered it.

But thanks for pointing it out. I will get back into the mix and see if there might be possible to "tone it down" a bit in the start, without loosing the width and depth of it.

Ah, well, I think that there may well be the "problem."

I'm not the expert here, but if you are going to double your vocals, it's better to do another take.

There may be a phase cancelling issue here, but I'm only guessing because I've never experienced it myself (and could therefore making a fool out of myself as usual ha!).
