Audiences, ranging in number from 1, to over 30,000 between 1963 and 1985 when I stopped performing.

Does this mean when you stopped performing they showed up?

I don't think reading it that way makes a difference...(funny works)...it's all history anyway and we know how people screw that up.
No matter how it's read the part that means the most to me is "I stopped performing". One of the best decisions I've ever made and immediately after doing so I knew I should have done it sooner. About a decade sooner. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

This is ridiculous.  it's obvious he meant it funny!

What's your problem?
Did not I say "funny works"?  Undoubtedly I was specifically mentioning that ceasing to perform was a very good intentional move.
I can't make you disappear...I've tried.
Well....I can make me disappear and I can live with that. Watch.

About 30 odd in a pub, certainly not there to see me, but I would play a few tunes on my dulcimer as a "guest" between sets on a weekly basis. That was back in the late 70s.

Biggest audience over 100,000  if shouting "Juan Two" into a microphone on Glastonbury's Pyramid stage counts?
