This year, I found the missing piece(s) for my rig! 
 

 


It may not be a a 1974 Les Paul Custom and a Plexi or a JCM800, but I LOVE my LP Studio and I knew that Green Channel on the DSL had the potential - and with the addition of those 2 pedals handmade by a friend in Montreal, magic happens. They breathe life into my adequate but somewhat generic rig. 
 
And for the first time in my life, I do find myself in a spot where I'm (a bit more seriously) considering trying different pick ups on my guitar, because it's now only a matter of fine tuning what I've got.  
 
Who knows? Maybe two or three years from now, I'll be experimenting with different tubes and speakers, and start being as anal as my guitarist friends seem to be. I certainly hope not, though.

I picked up a LP Studio this year as well, Krist.  I'm loving it, one of the best playing LP's that I have owned to date. 
 

Also picked up this little 20w Classic Head and Cabinet, very early this year.   Scandalous Grace out with our first CD.....2016 has been a good year for me.

The announcement that Cirque (or more precisely, Aria) was closing my wife's show 10 days before Christmas last year pretty much set the tone for the holidays and the whole new year. 
 
And then David Bowie died.
 
I always try and focus on things I'm grateful for - in 2016, it was harder to not get sidetracked by the things that sucked.
 
One of the positive news was that Cakewalk was about to release a Mac version of Sonar "this fall". As it is now officially winter and the holidays are about to begin, I am guessing that Sonar for Mac won't happen in 2016.

Coming from a house of so much literature and books, there is one thing that you learn quickly ... all that paper was not exactly toilet paper, and there were some good and interesting words in many of them.
 
I say the same thing for music, although not exactly described as "paper", but as an ethereal sound that attracts your ear forever ... and for me, there is only one lesson, and it is much more important, given how many well known and loved artists we loved, left us ... with only their remains being the music and the art they loved so much.
 
My "lesson" ... is that those words, are "immortal", and that not all of that is exactly "toilet paper" ... and my appreciation for anyone's ability and worth in their work, continues to rise, and will always be appreciated.
 
So my new year, is the same as the last year and life ... appreciate all the arts ... you will likely never "connect" with them as well, as you can at another time and place.

It obviously "fell" through the cracks. 
 
I'm grateful that I now have a job and DON'T have any debts (finished paying those off last month).  Time to get my own company started so I can REALLY make some income and get my stolen retirement fund back!
