Hi there.  I want to send a project for someone to mix, and I want/need to freeze some amp sims and synths he may not have.  However, it seems once you freeze you can no longer edit, and once you apply affects the prochannel is no longer available.

Is there a way to do what I want (say render a guitar track with sgear) then have prochannel available? or Freeze a track like that and still edit?

Thanks.

Your best option here is going to be "Bounce to tracks".
You can also freeze a track and hold CNTRL while dragging it to a new empty audio track if you so wish.
That's basically a copy/paste function with a frozen track. You are simply copying the Frozen data.
Once you paste the frozen track to a new audio track you can do any editing you'd like.

But in order to edit frozen data, it must be bounced first or dragged to a new audio track using the copy/paste function I spoke of.
Frozen tracks/Audio tracks take up little to no space when their FX are imbedded (destructive editing).

Hi. There is another option as well.
Turn the PC off before bouncing, and turn it on again afterwards.
You might have to right click in the fx bin and uncheck bypass fx bin after freezing.
I do add plugins at times when I want to make changes to a frozen track, instead of unfreezing and tweaking.
This can be done with both PC and the fx bin.
All the best.

If you're sending files to mix, Go to the file menu and export audio. Select tracks as your source, and choose all tracks.

For what it's worth, from a professional perspective, I'd rather have the clean DI guitar track in addition to the sound from any amp sims you may have used. That way I could hear the kind of sound you're going for, and I could also re-amp through a selection of real amplifiers and outboard, either to improve, or to layer up and enhance your guitar sound.

lots of good options here.  Thanks all.  for my purposes, I think the freeze>drag to new track is what I want.  thanks again.
