  • [Solved] Lag when saving?

When I use control-s now sonar is slow and sometimes shows-not responding? I'm disturbed by this as it never did this before with previous versions. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere in X-3c that wasn't there before or is there a Win8 tweak to fix this? The save used to be really fast.

Defrag and try changing this setting (but I suggest you find out what it does before you leave the setting changed):
Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording > Always Stream Audio Through FX

Otherwise - no idea.
Cheers...

I'll give both a try! The program loads super slow now too, go figure?

OK, neither worked! Changing that setting in preferences is sorta like having the PDC checked all the time. This makes no sence at all to me. Win 8 worked like a champ!!

Check Windows event viewer for any issues with your hardware or windows etc.
Try starting in safe mode to see if it makes a difference, if it does it is probably one your plugins.
Run windows update.

Is it just for this one project? Some projects will save slower or faster than others. It just depends on the project and what is in it.

Well after turning off all plugins & no change. I noticed I had an inserted stereo file in a mono track. Bounce to mono & viola? Not quite! About this time I notice a notepad in my toolbar popping up asking if this program was working properly. This was curious to me as I've never seen this before, ever! Close Sonar & right click to make sure I have it on administrive? What do ya know? Windows compatability mode was checked! Uncheck, restart, and we are back in business.

That's a first. Glad it got sorted... Never would have thought of that in a Month of Sundays...

Wow...that's pretty esoteric. I would never have thought to check that either.
