Any recommendation for Midi plugins that work with Sonar?

Notably I'm looking for a plugin that would ad chords / do harmonization.

I downloaded the demo version of 7aliens  W2 Harmonizer but it somehow isn't recognized by Sonar as a vst plugin.

You could use Melodyne. Might not be quite as intuitive as a dedicated harmony plug-in.  I have heard the results and it works well if done correctly.

Hi,

I have used Izotopes Nectar 2 plugin for adding harmonies as vocal backing tracks. It is cool because you can use a midi controller to add the harmonies and control the position, number and volume of the vioces.  The harmonies sound really good also for a plug.. Check out the demos on www.izotope.com.. IHTH

Can you explain how you use izotope néctar 2 plugin in cakewalk?.
As vst? or vst3?
how you obtain midi input in the plug?
thanks in advance

Hello,

@ Mcanicos... Setup is pretty straight forward.  I learned via watching the videos.  You choose what flavor of the plug that gets installed (vst, au, rtas , vst3, 32/64, aax). So for example...you can have a vocal already recorded and then add Nectar to the track. Select the harmony module and setup the number of voices, spacing volume etc..., There is a midi control button for when you want to use the controller to key in the voices for the harmony. If this button is not pushed in then the software will auto determine (you also have control over that). This also works when tracking if you ensure that input echo is enabled on the track.  Below are the links to the videos that I watched.  IHTH.

I tried the Nectar trial. I really wanted it to do backing, harmony, vocals, quickly, simply, easily. I was pretty disappointed. I could not get it to generate a useable harmony, automatically, at all. Maybe I was expecting too much? I don't know if there's actually anything out there that can accurately analyze the lead vocal and generate a useable harmony automatically or not.

Try the demo of Zplane's Vielklang.  It works well with sonar.
