Had a crash.
As usual, Sonar couldn't find my controller on rerunning.
That is fixed by rebooting the controller and rerunning sonar a couple of times.
Then -Preferences, reset to sound card/controller once it found it.
But now the file that was up during the crash doesn't play.
Others play fine.
I recall there was some odd setting in preferences that fixed this once before.
Anyone remember?

Sidestep.

Have you updated your interface + controller firmware and drivers. Any error messages in your event viewer? I think there is an administrative events section in XP?
BTW your footer does not tell us if you are doing 64 bit or 32 bit.
When was the last time you ran windows update? (BTW MS will stop Windows Update middle of next year for XP, if you can I would suggest upgrading in the next 7 months).

Cheers...

No, I got that one, Thanks Skook.
I'm 32 bit.
Yeah new computer coming up next year.
Yes firmware updated (BR800)
This is the only project that doesn't work.
Copying the trax to the browser and importing to a new project works too but that's a last resort. I lose all the setup.

I was able to get most of it thru the backup copy of the backup copy of the file.
Better than nothing.

If it happens again please paste the error message in full. There is a facility within the event viewer which will allow you to copy the whole error so you can paste it here (the devil is in the detail). Thanks.

Thanks Alex. The event properties:

"The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( gupdate ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service stopped."
Which is unintelligible to me.

Only the red errors are important (not yellow etc). And the recent ones.
These instructions may help to copy/paste the full errors (sorry I wasn't specific enough). System and application log is the most important.
Custom Views -> Administrative events generally is the place to look, but I can't remember if you have that under XP.
