I didn't say it was cheap.  
 
I've used a Lynx1 sound card it was a very high quality card.  I wouldn't expect the TB card or the Aurora and Hilo that use it to be high quality as well.  Unless you're making big bucks in your studio, it's hard to justify paying those prices.

Alex . . . nice news . . . so I Googled it, and it says Saffire Pro 40s are "compatible with Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire Adapter"
 . . . no mention of PC ?


Both CakeAlexS and myself use Pro 40s on PCs. Mine has Motherboard Firewire (TI chips...important!!)

You can still get Thunderbolt in some high end bundled MOBO/Chassis setups sold as "barebones", e.g.

From what I read this was sposed to happen .... ASUS' Thunderbolt EX Upgrade Card for 7-series Motherboards.
