I'm not sure, but does STEAM have it's own user account that it's running under instead of yours?

How about renaming the STEAM folder and creating a new one? (and copy everything in to it)

Curiously, after re-installing Keyscape these messages went away.

What changed? Maybe the difference is that after the initial installation I'd moved the STEAM folder to my library drive, whereas this time the installer recognized the new location and did the update in situ. Dunno. It remains a mystery.

Windows still says the STEAM folder is read-only.

Further mysteries...the reason I re-installed was not an attempt to resolve the read-only message, but to address an entirely new problem that cropped up this morning: Keyscape was suddenly unable to open any instruments on my main DAW.
I would get a messagebox saying:
Cannot load SourceSource "Wing Tack Tremolo ^ Stereo" from Directory "Keyscape Library".
File Wing Tack Tremolo ^ Stereo.zmap may be missing or corrupted.
        Try refreshing the SoundSource Browser

Sure enough, I discovered that all of Keyscape's library (.db) files were GONE!

I've been careful not to touch anything on the primary DAW, as it's all been working fine. I certainly didn't make any changes while the computer was shut down for the night. But somehow, files that were there last night weren't there today. After re-installation everything was fine again. Bizarre.

When I updated to Win 10 I had to reauthorize all my Spectrasonics products...including Keyscape which I'd just installed and authorized a week earlier.
