A minute in, the video has a piano roll overlay. Is it just a video graphics spiced up midi file created from the audio, or a an actual anaylizer.

I think it's probably just a custom animation created from a MIDI file. 
 
It's certainly been spiced up somewhat, I don't know if most of it is displaying the notes accurately but at 1:36 there is a descending swoop which they're definitely not playing....

I noticed that too after I had posted. It was a nice effect from their video, suits their style.
