...Dimension Pro (from 32 to 64 bit)! First the expansions packs wouldn't show up in the browser. Yes, I've tried F5 several times. Managed with scopko's help to link from C: to a SATA-drive E: where I also put the exp packs. It works fine with the original sounds. Tried also to make the registry to point to that folder but again... Installation program really doesn't give any options where to install the library unless maybe if not doing installations, first with just the Vsti-synth (with "Multisamples" unchecked) and a second one with the Vsti unchecked. I haven't tried that yet.

edit: I did - no success. BUT the inbuilt uninstaller worked ok and finally I realized there really was an option for installing sound libraries on another hard drive. I just wasn't aware of the terminology, "multisamples", in Dim Pro.

If you want to rescue your DimPro installation it is possible. Or you can delete it all (although I would copy the all the multisamples directories and programs to safe place rather and not delete them until after the reinstall if it were me) and perform a clean reinstall following these directions http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013238

Which your you prefer?

BTW, if I were performing the clean reinstall, I would install the 64bit version first (if you plan on installing the 32bit version again) and take all defaults. Instal the Expansion Packs. Verify the installation. Move the mutlisample directory. Verify the move.

I am guessing right now the DimPro registry entries are a little messed up.

Right! I also have to apologize to the Dim Pro folks. Installer actually gives an option where to put the the multisamples. Guess I am getting worn out from all downloading and installing.

Yes, it does have a multisample location option. If you use it to relocate the multisamples during the install, the installer makes the appropriate registry changes and you can ignore the install sequence I gave above.

Great scook! Reinstalled exp packs as well and they're coming along great. Lack some strings and other Dim Pro updates which are still downlodable, credits to you CW! I will delete the the folder with which Dim Pro didn't work properly as soon as I see it has about the same content as the new, functioning one.

That is good news. While installing the missing files using their installers is the safest solution, you can merge your old multisamples and programs by hand. If you elect the manual approach you will need to refresh the browser with F5.

I have only the free expansion packs, and it had an install program that put them wherever they needed to go.

The path to where the Dim Pro programs live is:

C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs

This is a hidden folder, so you would have to adjust your settings to allow viewing it.

Scook, I am illiterate when it comes to computers. My trials and errors hopefully do something for learning. I guess, since the exp packs and update multisamples are executable (programs), they do some changes in the registry? I mean it's not enough dumping the samples in the DP's sound library folder, right?

Right Bob. I had problems finding them.
