Interesting. Is that the correct controller/surface type for your controller?
 
Have you tried using one of the generic devices?
 
Basically I don't know how to be helpful. This is not how it works when I set up my Alpha Track. It looks like you're doing things correctly.

Unfortunatly Alex it didnt work, I managed to locate the file and change the name, I restated the computer etc.. nothing, I still cant access my controller, I'm out of ideas with this one : /
 
Hey gswitz yeah thats how I set up my controller, the Automap universal comes with the SL MkII drivers
This setup ran smoothly with X2 and X1?

It did until I upgraded to windows 8.1 and Sonar X3 : /

So to be clear the only issue you have now is with SL MKII.
And you are using this:

And it is fine playing it as a keyboard but you can't use it as a controller?

Do you still have X2 installed? If it doesn't currently work in X2 on the same machine, can you report to the company and see if they need to create a new driver? Or perhaps re-install the driver?

Thats correct, the only time I can get the SL MkII to work now is if I use it under Act Midi Controller instead of Novation Automap Universal, but now the audio is distorted and I have latency between pressing the keys and hearing any sound.
Just to be clear my midi controller worked on both X2 and X1 but since I upgraded my operating system to 8.1 and my software to X3 I can no longer get my controller to work on any of my Sonar daws?
