Sounds like you are coming in via USB and using default usb driver for midi. I wonder if you found the device in device manager if you could specify the driver for it. Do you know what I'm talking about when I say device manager?

Ooo are you plugged into a usb 3 port? That would prevent you from using the driver and push you to class compliant usb midi. Make sure your device is plugged into a usb 2 port.

Wasn't exactly clear about what you wrote, could you be totally clear about the specific behaviour for the Act driver and the Novation driver? i.e. what exactly works, and what exactly what works, and which driver is having the distortion issues. Thanks.
 
Agree with gswitz's last three posts. Does it still work with X2? Definitely looking more and more like dodgy driver.

No idea where 2.4 disappeared to. Might be worth emailing them and giving them a link to this thread after trying this. I am confused about what the stable driver is and the what is the latest beta driver (get links I suggest).

Hey guys still no luck, yeah that was the drivers I already had Alex, Ive intalled them uninstalled them, reverted back to a previouse driver etc  but still no luck, @ gswitz yeah all my usb's are connected to 2.0's, these are the kinda things I would trouble shoot from the beginning.
This is whats so frustrating about this problem I know its going to be something really simple.
Need to get this dealt with soon as poss as im starting to fall behind on projects that have deadlines.
 
Sorry for not being clear enough Alex, the Act Midi Controller allowes me to use my SL MkII unfortunatly its distorted as sh#t and has lag between key press and sound.
But the Novation Automap Universal is what I should be using with my SL MkII.
I'm looking in three different directions right now with this problem, Sonar X3, Windows 8.1 and Novation drivers/Automap, Just cant figure what is responsible?  : /

Yup give them an email, point them to this thread, tech support is normally pretty good... Might be a week before you get this resolved however. BTW could you change the title of this post please to the specifics?
