I wrote this and played everything - except whatever the slide instrument is - that was played by Earl Foote.

Hi Mark,

That was an interesting composition that, with no real beat marker at the start, and it made concentrate on the guitar parts, if you know what I mean. Just them laid back shakers... It really worked for me.

A really nice and chilled out piece of guitar tunage

I did a search for Earl Foote, because I've not heard of that guy. Only a couple of music related results came back. Is it this guy?

His slide guitar was a great compliment to the whole tune, helping take the chill even further.

Nice work

cheers

Mark,

Really like this instrumental.   Everything sounds great and the progression and guitar meanderings are hypnotic.   Love it...

I like it a lot! Reminds me of some of the music from the early 70's. Maybe a little Clapton or George Harrison? That's what I think of when I hear it.

Thanks all.

No Andy - that's not the guy. Earl is out of Austin, he plays a lot of string instruments - all of them much better than I ever could.

Thanks for taking a listen.

I like the instrumentation a lot, and your performances are fine and dandy.

For crits, maybe the shaker panning got a little much (I listened on headphones), and I guess the big thing is that I found through the first half of the song, I was trying to discover what the beat was. At one point I thought it was in seven. It kind of meanders around and I couldn't tell where "one" was. I guess this intentional . . .

This seemed to get better as the song progressed, so I'll chalk it up to the half a beer I had before listening. Yeah, look out, I'm the party! :)

The "meter" didn't seem to drift, thank goodness! Reminded me also of early 70's, maybe early Joe Walsh?

got any words? I think this would  be great for a lyricist/vocalist . . .

nice one!

oh yea,
i like the meandering meter and melody,
it feels so organic,
and real, unforced, unapologetically whimsical and purposeful at the same time.

really nice.
it is exactly right as it is, for me.

Yeah, I hear the Joe Walsh reference as well. Pretty cool tune here Mark, I like it. There's some amp noise that could use some gating, but other than that this is pretty good just the way it is. Love your guitar work...

I love the clean tones, the mellow mood, and the overall ambience.  You're an artist!  Beautiful.

Cool stuff. This has a Beatles kind of feel..... from their psychedelic days....  nice work and very mellow.
