On Sonar x3, when I switch between multiple projects (usually to ctl+drag certain FX chains into a new project) in the past it has been almost instantaneous click between the two, however, now on Sonar x3 there is a huge 5 second or so delay between the projects switching into focus when I click them. Any ideas why it's so slow now and how I can fix this?

Please state your environment (see my footer, ideally update yours) we need to know what you have.
Also install patch to X3C, disable 64 bit precision, update to latest drivers, run windows update and defrag your hard drive.

I just compared the speed of moving FX between projects in X2 with the speed in X3 and there is definitely more lag in X3.
 
That said, for me it is still close to instantaneous. I have maybe a 1/2 second leg when dragging one effect for the first time. Once the GUI for the effect is loaded, it drags faster the second time. I don't know why.
 
But I do see an slight increase in lag when dragging FX between projects in X3.

Funny, forums posts are like buses. You wait forever then two very similar posts come at the same time...

I'm using x64 of Sonar, Windows 7, and this is when I have two projects loaded into Sonar at the same time, and I cascade the two projects and I focus them by click on them to switch between them.

Brundlefly made a comment on the other post (see #4) which may help.

No, this does not help at all, there is still a 4 second lag when switching between cascaded projects that are open simultaneously in Sonar x3. Has anyone with Sonar x3 attempted this to see if it happens to them?

I think that Alex is suggesting you try turning this off...
Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording > Always Stream Audio Through FX
 
And then see if you still get the Lag. It may be that this constant streaming through the FX is adding to your latency.
 
This is new in X3.

I have tried this, and there is still a huge 3-4 second lag when switching between projects that are open at the same time, as opposed to Sonar X2 which was instantaneous, or as close to instantaneous as possible.

So please try post #2 next to rule this out.
