I am trying to learn how to use the sample playback synths and am becoming quite confused about what sample files came with Sonar Xi, where they are stored, what file types go with each synth and how to access those files easily.  How do ya'll stay organized?  Any tips?

Installs of Sonar and synths like Dimension Pro, and adding expansion paks, have put sample files in several folders in Windows:  Cakewalk Content, Program Files, x86 Program Files, etc.  I've been at this only a short while and already it's getting dicey:)

I don't browser the samples for specific synths like DimPro. You could but I prefer to audition the programs or sfz files make from the samples. I do use the search function in windows to browse the programs and multisample directories when looking for a particular sound. Remember many of the synths patchs are located under in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk whichis a hidden directory. You can add links to the media browser in SONAR too, if you find that helps you get around.
