I am working in X3c on a multitrack drum recording.  I have the drums in a folder and I can click on the folder and then CTRL+Click on the take lanes button to open up all the take lanes.  BUT if I CTRL+Click on the Solo button within one of the take lanes, only the track that I click the solo button is solo'ed.  For example, I click the solo button on take 2 of the kick drum and all of my snare drum takes are still playing (take 2 of the snare drum does not get solo'ed).  Why is this not working??  I should be able to CTRL+Click on any of the solo buttons and quickly listen to each take on the drumset as a whole.

I agree it would be nice if CTRL solo worked this way.  I suggest you put it in as a feature request.  However, you can do what you want a different way.  Make sure your takes are grouped (e.g., kick take 1 is grouped with snare take 1). You can set up Sonar to do this automatically or select each clip, right click, then assign to a group after the fact.  Then, using the smart tool if you click on the bottom half of any clip it will solo only that take for all tracks within the group.  This is spelled out pretty well in the Cakewalk video on comping.

if you group your tracks as neirbod indicates above you will get the "group take" solo you are looking for...

Thanks for the tips neirbod.  I still have issues though with clicking on the bottom half of the clip.  That actually ends up selecting all takes and I hear all takes simultaneously.  The only way I've been able to get it to work is to click on a take, do SHIFT+SPACEBAR to start the loop playback, and then use the arrow keys to navigate between takes.  Clicking would be much easier but at least I have a work around for now.

Mystic38, the group take solo does not work.  If I group all my tracks and solo the track as a whole it solos everything in the group but if a solo a take within a track it still only solos that one track, which is very annoying!
