  • Removing the Pro Channel from X2 (or X3) Producer? (p.10)

It's probably because you frequently imply the other person is an idiot/foolish/snobbish/wrong for having a certain workflow preference or idea. If you truly don't want to seem like you're attacking people, don't use words like that. While you don't outright call someone an idiot, you imply they must be one if they hold to the idea you're ridiculing. That's passive aggressive.

That may need to be worked on on my end, Sanderxpander.

It is very important to me never to attack another member. I try very hard to follow that notion. I will attack ideas though and I think that I may use strong language in doing so but never will I go after a person and attack him or her.

For example Steve is trying to attack me not my ideas. You will notice I do not respond in kind.

You what?

Are you on the same planet as the rest of us John?

I merely pointed out your deliberate misuse of semantics in one of your posts. In other words, I disagreed with your idea.

Show me where I attacked you personally and I'll apologise immediately.

And while we're on the subject of attacking others - who exactly used the term "idiot" in this thread? If that's not a personal attack, then what is?

You need to get a grip John.

I think perhaps we could all use a step back and a little fresh air.

I only mentioned a way of getting rid of ProChannel because that is what I did myself. It might be considered weird by almost all Sonar users but I'm happy I did it. It seems that a small minority of users are not big ProChannel fans.

It's like: this is something I'm not happy with. Here is what I did about it.

Never thought about bringing it up until the OP raised the same point himself.

p.s. Being labelled an idiot doesn't bother me.

Steve you come in here never taking a position on the subject and only find fault with my arguments. That would seem to be an attack on me. Sure I am looking at it from my point of view but I also think others can see it too. If not that wont change my view.

To me the idea of removing the PC is an idiotic idea for all the reasons given (4 pages worth). There are idiotic ideas. The world being flat being one.  People hold to notions and thoughts that under further investigation turn out to be singularly wrong. The proposal of removing the PC to me falls into that sort of idea.  If you go back and read how I view the PC my objections to this removal idea seems mild.

Haha, ok I'm off to bed, guys.
Sonar Basic seems like a good idea, backwoods. Assuming all my other stuff will still work.

Works great and is cheaper. R-mix from X2 Pro works but blue tubes that were bundled with X3pro don't. 'Bifilter' from X3pro works.
Hopefully Cakewalk don't hobble the next versions of Sonar basic- I might be getting cheap upgrades from here on...

There ya go - X3 (basic) is CW's method for excluding PC.

And if you go with Studio or Producer, well, you're just going to have to deal with the fact that one of SONAR's bigger selling points will be included.   Of course, could do what Danny suggested previously and just forget it exists.

For what it's worth I'm happy to be called an idiot, esp from John as he would probably be right in some scenarios (and has been in the past), not that he's ever called me an idiot. Let's not get too bogged down on this, I didn't really see any specific direction in these comments and we can all get quite passionate  .... Heck I only called somebody an idiot last week and got let off lightly ;)

Cheers...
