I bought the 20GB for the year.

I've been using it and I keep running out of my quota. Only the free accounts have a download quota. I don't know if I'll renew. Ask me next year.

But so far, I've shared 4 projects that are more than 10 GB without having to get off my a$$.

Wait... is that a good thing?

And it's dawning on me that I can stop burning CDs for my friends and just send them the 24 bit WAVs. Am I the only one in the world still burning discs?

I also get why there's an ON/OFF switch for Gobbler built into the interface. If you don't turn it off while you're working, it will keep uploading every incremental change you make. Maybe that's what you want, but if you're trying to send a bunch of exported WAVs to a friend and you're working in a project, Gobbler may never get a breath to send your WAVs b/c it's so busy backing up the project you're saving every 5 seconds.

Is that the reason for the Gobbler switch on the Control Bar?

I prefer my Synology server, I can VPN from there as well.

Nobody gets my data except the NSA.

Hi All,

Nice to meet you! I am the CEO of Gobbler and I thought I would weigh in on Gobbler's automatic versioning feature. You can adjust the frequency of the updates by opening up the Gobbler preferences and selecting the throttle.

MIN setting: Gentle Gobbler! Gobbler will lie dormant while you’re working in your DAW unless you step back from the desk for 3 minutes or more.
MID setting: Will ONLY allow user initiated transfers i.e. initial backup, send, download. Will wait for 3 mins of inactivity before it does an auto backup. Gobbler does not auto-backup the project you’re working on in MID setting.
MAX setting: Greedy Gobbler! Will actively send, backup, and download while you work in your DAW. Auto backups will be initiated every 10 mins for the project you’re working on.
If the project you’re working on gets modified DURING an auto backup, Gobbler will pause for a minute or so before resuming the backup.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Chris. I'm must be in greedy mode . I'll fix that tonight. The sonar pause Gobbler button was solving my problem, but it sounds like switching to gentle Gobbler is what I should do.

Thanks for the awesome tool! I've been sending out tons of music and videos and found it very helpful!

Chris, a quick follow up ..

Do we only get and extra space allotment for our first friend to sign up? I've turned on lots of friends, but only got a half a gb bonus. I guess I thought I might get lots of bonuses. Maybe that is me in greedy mode again. :-)

You get credited for every sign up with no limits.. To get the credit though.... the person you invite has to complete the sign up process and install the app.

Hope this answers your questions!
