  • assign envelope bug?

I think I am getting a bug where in a project I created in Sonar 8 I can't reassign envelopes to VST fx.  Seems to work fine in new tracks, but in old tracks it won't let me assign the envelope to anything other than Vol/Pan/Mute and Prochannel stuff.

Please state version of Sonar X and/or update your footer. Thanks.

Windows 7 Sonar X3 64bit.  I haven't done a lot of testing of this - I only just noticed it.

You see in my footer than I am running X3C 64 bit? So you are just running X3A/B/C? To be honest it would be useful if you could update your footer with as much info as possible like mine, that will help to see if we have running something similar or not. Thanks

And if you could give us precise steps to reproduce the problem please.

Sorry to drill you down, the devil is in the detail.

thanks for your concern.  I'm using Sonar X3c.

This problem happens when I try to assign an envelope to a different parameter.  Sometimes it seems that I can't assign it to any VST fx parameters, only to Prochannel and track parameters such as volume and pan.

I infer from your response that you haven't encountered this issue.  Since I have only noticed this problem in a project which I began in Sonar 8.3, I imagine it's not a very common issue.  I was hoping that perhaps someone else had come across trouble trying to reassign an envelope, and might have a workaround or some theory about the cause of the problem.

There is a similar problem I've seen where setting the color of a bus on a project from X2 doesn't set the color on its associated tracks.  I imagine these are issue with the new features - the bus/track color setting didn't exist before X3, and I suppose the changes to automation introduced in X1 may have interfered a bit with backwards compatibility.

Perhaps someone else has an issue with reassigning envelopes.  If so, what have you done to work around it?  I will have to do some tinkering to figure out exactly under what circumstances this is happening.
