Hi there

What I need to do is to take existing note and adding a node to make the note drop halfway threw the note from F to E.  Or maybe I am tackling this from the wrong direction.

Did I confuse everybody?
Pleas Help

Matt

Not following, Matt. Do you want to stretch a note out, or have a dropping pitch on an existing note?

You can use the freehand draw tool to just draw in whatever shape you like, but it might be difficult to make it sound natural assuming that is your aim. I'm also assuming that you are not altering the length here, just the pitch.

Ya all I want to do was to drop have of the note down the scale a notch.  I was hoping to break it into 2 parts by adding a node or nodes in the middle

Original note (f)___________

New note   (f)______  < =====  Add note here and here
                             |                     ||
             || ====> (e) |_______    ||
             ||                                    ||
             ======= =========  ||

Sorry about the crude drawing.

Thanks for your help

If you click in the blue space above the note you're trying to alter and drag to the right (highlighting the section), you'll now find you can drag the yellow line down. This is equivalent to adding a pair of nodes at either end of the selection.

Once you've done this, go into the Formant  page, make the same selection (if it isn't already highlighted) and drag the line UPWARDS by a small amount to compensate for the drop in pitch.
