Looking thru my Downloads folder I see these files:

Will it be OK to just keep the latest file? Do I also need to keep the original setup file? Or are these not cumulative and I need to keep ALL of them?
 
I also see these:

Do you suggest I keep both of these? I have no need for backward compatibility with old projects.

They are cumulative but I have backups with ALL for everything and then regular backups with only the latest 2 of each-in case of corruption or some BS like that.
 
Honestly, disk space is super cheap these days I don't sweat this stuff.

Rapture is not the same as Rapture Pro. Rapture Pro can play Cakewalk Sound Center, Dimension Pro and Rapture programs in addition to its own. It is not a 100% replacement for Cakewalk Sound Center or Dimension Pro, for example it lacks the programmable buttons from CSS and cannot implement the full VB3 from Dimension Pro. I believe it does handle all the original Rapture programs correctly. That said the updates to Rapture Pro were cumulative. The last installer Rapture_pro_UP5_2.0.5.81.exe is all that is needed to install the plug-in and stand alone synth. There are quite a few content installs to complete the entire RP installation. These installers include all the DP and Rapture Classic programs in addition to original content for RP.
 
RaptureClassic_003.exe is the original Rapture Content installer (including the 2 expansion packs) for RP.
 
Rapture122Setup_1.2.2.10.exe is the original Rapture synth. It does not contain the 2 expansion packs.

It's also wise to keep a backup copy of the multisamples and programs. With those you don't need to bother about installing expansion packs.

I've found it's important to keep the original expansion pack files because the Rapture family is extremely picky about where to look for samples. If anything gets moved, you'll end up loading programs with no samples, and no way of knowing what samples they should be there.

I've never needed to reinstall an expansion pack ever. Each time I install DimPro or Rapture on a new platform I just replace the existing programs and multisamples with my backup copy. I've done this lots of times and it's never failed. I haven't tried it with Rapture Pro yet though.
