Just curious, why did you have to remix for this issue?
The issue(s) I have are easy enough to work-around as a restart of Sonar almost always solves the project-loading problem with VCC.  Sometimes it takes 2-3 times, but often not.
 
Perhaps your issue was much more frequent and intense than mine.  I'd assume so, because those steps make me cautious because it's dealing with removing iLok License Manager and dealing with the registry.  If anything goes wrong, I have a slew of other plugs that are manager by that app.
 
To be honest, I'm paranoid when it comes to breaking things that are more-or-less working well :)

Yes, but including the iLok drivers, licences etc. I think that one is actually key (no pun intended!).
