  • The now time marker and now time vertical line run together during playback and recording (p.2)

Ah, I see. Where the Now time ends up is working correctly, but the marker is following the Now time cursor during playback. Looks like an X3C issue. I hadn't noticed, but my desktop DAW is doing this, too. X3b on my laptop is working normally.

Exactly , brundlefly :-) My eye caught this while I was playing true a project this morning .

Thank You for confirming my issue .
I wonder if this behavior is intended .

I can confirm I'm seeing it too. I'm not sure if I care, not saying you shouldn't.

I have a feeling that I`ve done some changes but cannot recall what I did to get this  behavior :-))
Usually the now time marker stays put and the now time vertical line snaps back to the marker when you stop playback .

Here is a video of my problem : http://www.screencast.com/t/XSyBOPMHm

Damn , this drives me nuts :-)) Please help .

  • I've seen this happen before on Bootcamp'd Macs.
  • It's possible there is something going on with your graphics. Do you have any custom settings on your computer. Things like running Windows 7 in "classic" mode has effected the Now Time Marker before.
  • Can you try rebooting? (I know this sounds dumb, but it has fixed things like this before)
  • Lastly, within Track View go to Options and make sure "On Stop, Rewind to Now Time Marker" is unchecked.
Let's see if any of this helps.

Hi Dan, Thanks for chiming in.

Based on earlier issues with the Now Cursor disappearing, I have Win 7 Home Premium Visual Effect set to Adjust for Best Performance, which enables all effects. I tried other settings but it had no effect. I also unloaded all my custom keybindings as this has had a bearing on other issues with the behavior of the Now Marker, but this also had no effect.

For reference, I'm running the most recent driver for my nVidia card (astually still nVidia 8600GT as I have not gotten around to installing the GT630 mentioned in my signature). I could try rolling back the driver to an earlier release if you think that might have a bearing.

EDIT: To answer your other questions, reboot had no effect, and it happens regardless of the setting of On Stop Rewind to Now. The Now Cursor behavior honors this setting, but the Now Marker travels with it when the tranposrt is running in both cases.

X1 and X2 also behaving normally here, and the marker in the PRV behaves normally in X3c.

I can also confirm that X2 is behaving normally, and the problem occurs in X3c.
