After looking in from time to time this last year or two, this last month has been so much better on the forums.
The gentler, more helpful(maybe gentler is in this), and overall feel of the forums
have been so much nicer.  Its a pleasure to skim read many of the subjects that
yield answers for questions I would have asked in the future. b-marked a lot of them.

Also the feedbacks from the Cakewalk folks seems to be a lot more active and helpful.
This really helps put them more on my future list for very important parts of my music.

This X3c update coming is great news also, even tho am newbie...
Thank you to all the forum members, and also the Cakewalk staff.

I think you're right on that and I think there's a few reasons:

1. X3 appears to have been a much better release than the prior major releases
2. X3 has already seen more updates than X2, so even if X2A technically contained more bug fixes than X3A+X3B combined (which I'm not sure it did), the perception is that X3 is being better supported.
3. Cakewalk staff has been much more open and communicative this time around (there was a whole lot of silence following X2A)
4. There's probably a hope that the Gibson involvement is in some way, shape, or form, positively factoring into 1-3

All in all, I haven't upgraded to X3 and I'm still not sure that I will, but I'm seeing Cakewalk's recent actions as a nice positive step forward. I feel like if every Sonar release had gone this well, there'd be a lot less to do at Cakewalk right now in terms of fixing old bugs.

Where did this come from, a forum post?

It is great that the company has been attentive to customers' needs and requests in this release. It is encouraging and boosts confidence that Cakewalk are more customer-centric now. May it continue.

Very happy to see CW management care about perception..... having all these A, B, C releases, etc could lead one to believe that the software was full of bugs but as most of us noticed:

1) X3 was the most stable new major release in recent years
2) The A, B and C patches are coming with months of the release

So, the way I hope this plays out is that the bakers are now aware of perception of its user base... the timeliness to issue updates (releases) to fix bugs this often has the perception that they care rather than they are forced into releasing something.  I still can't get over the amount of time it took the bakers to fix the motorboating issues of 8.x... I do remember not using my DAW for what seemed like weeks until they released a fix for this major show stopper.

And X2 only having one release before X3 and the fact that alot of the familiar bakers were bailing the company created some angst about the future of SONAR....

The last couple of months have given me a much better feeling toward SONAR that I have had in many years.

THANKS GUYS, I for one have noticed.

I'm really looking forward to X3z (assuming that X3 boxed set upgrades will actually be available in the UK sometime before X4 is released) ;)

It's been available for some time:
