I like the prochannel EQ but find myself using the EQ in Ozone5 on each track instead because in Ozone, you can see the frequency data behind the EQ markers.  Its much easier when you can cut frequencies that are displayed in the same pluggin instead of going back and forth with trial and error. So, my questions are:

Is it possible to see the EQ date behind the EQ markers in the ProChannel EQ?
If not, can Sonar X2 be changed so it will default to a different EQ other than the stock EQ?
Can you expand the size of the EQ in ProChannel.  Its a bit small regardless of the size of the monitor.

Thanks!

There is no way to replace the QuadCurve in the PC (although any VST plug-in can be loaded into an FX chain) or make the display larger in X2. The plug-in was reworked for X3 Producer though http://www.cakewalk.com/p...s/sonar/whats-new.aspx

Hi Joe...

Enter the world of Sonar X3!

The new update has a large fly-out that gives a spectrum analysis behind the enlarged EQ window... This among many things is a great reason to upgrade to X3...

In X2 you can create custom templates that have any effects you like in the pro channel.

X3 has bigger eqs with fft behind it, but you can really only use one at a time.

I'm assuming he's talking about the advanced version where you can open just the EQ.

Is Ozone 5 a CPU hog even if you only have one module open?

+1 on that John. Ozone on every channel means you don't have many tracks or your computer is really powerful. Ozone is really meant for mastering or put it on the bus for the final mix. Alloy is Ozone's younger brother and it takes up a lot less system resources. That must be one heck of a machine you got to run Ozone on everything.

As some here have already mentioned X3 has the EQ you are looking for and the other new features are pretty awesome too

Ozone has a lot of features built into it. It is designed to be a one stop plugin for mastering or insert it on a master buss. Depending on what you are using it for it is possible it could take up a lot of CPU cycles. that being said the plugin is incredible and it is definitely worth the money. It has become my go to plug for mastering.
