Hi,

Strange behavior from Sonar here.

Go to File > Import > .WAV file
it loads up (few seconds) but nothing is imported.

*Other audio files import in no problem
*This .WAV file plays fine on windows media player (15.1 MB, 1411 kbps, stereo 16 bit)

Any ideas?

Perhaps it's time stamped (BWF - broadcast wave file) and it's being imported at a time your not seeing. Can you scroll the timeline and find it?

Just to verify WDI's suggestion, just hit ctrl + end on your keyboard and see where that takes you (in Track View)

Probably a broadcast wave as suggested above. There will be dots in the track in the track view indicating data to the right out of view. Uncheck "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp" in Preferences > File > Audio Data to prevent this from happening in the future.

Is it a commercial recording? It may have Digital Rights Management (DRM) on it.
