Jarsve,
Sounds great on my system.  No crits on the mix.  Nice performances and a kickin tune.  Nice work!

This was a deliciously challenging project to take part in (I did all the guitar tracks).

Turned out great Oyvind.

Took about a month and a half from the time I first received the original MIDI/synth version to when I delivered the last set of solo tracks. This was completely written by Oyvind except for the main solo, two of the quick little accent solos and some slight adjustments I made to the original parts (to add some extra girth to an already massive tune).

Thanks for the invite on this, bud.

Hi, impressive sounds and production,  excellent guitar work.  For me the vocal could be a bit louder, gets a bit buried in the mix.

My cardiologist made me switch to decaf to avoid elevated heart rates. If she heard this I'm pretty sure she'd add it to the list of prohibited things.

So for medical reasons I was constrained from listening to the song more than four times.

Guitar work's great. Now, I'm no expert in the Dumpster Core genre, but I'd bring up the vocals and bass a bit and back off the kick. Yeh, I know that forward clicky kick is an essential component in metal genres, but IMO it should take care not to bury the vocals and bass. Or that excellent guitar work.

Well, I had already consumed two cups of coffee - so listening to this while caffineated probably took a few days off of my life. Probably worth it. ? It's quite a ride . . .

I always wondered what Korn would sound like if they were fronted by Wilson Phillips. I wonder no further.

Your mixing choices were all appropriate for the genre, but the genre favors chugga guitars and kick drums over vocal audibility, which is good for the genre but not my favorite choice. I'd vote for vocals up - somehow?

Really excellent guitar tones, and super clean all the way through!

cheers,
-Tom

Thanks. I think I hear what you mean about the vox but it might be a sympton of maybe some of the leads being a tad loud? Definitely think the awesome vox deserve the spotlight. She's such a great singer. I do however find it impressive Jarsve was able to keep the leads and and vox pretty clear and present when they are both going at the same time.

Thanks for listening.

Heheh. This definitely does not fall into the Dumpster Core genre (that was more my old punk stuff from my early twenties which was totally rotten like a pile of festering garbage... lulz).

Thanks for checking it out. I think maybe part of the problem with the bass (and a common problem in thick "wall of guits" type stuff like this) is maybe it's right on the verge of that annoying bass freq buildup issue. Essentially you dial in the bass perfectly and the guitars end up too thin. You dial in the guits perfectly and the bass gets all boomy. It is a really cool bass part though. I've of course heard it in isolation. In my little remix version I'm trying to make it a little more present without making it boom or mess with the guits but it is a tricky.

BTW... did you ever get that orchestral strings project together? Been meaning to ask. Sounded like a cool project.

Cheers, bit.
