What exactly are these issues? They may stem from a common cause. For example, a lot of people reported numerous problems with VST plug-ins until they did a full plug-in scan using Plug-In Manager.

Also, some issues seem tied to enabling the 64-bit audio engine. It would be interesting to see if your issues went away after disabling the 64-bit audio engine and re-scanning the plug-ins.

Alex thank you for your quick reply and sharp whit :P

I have reported all issues to a tech at cakewalk about a week ago and have gotten no reply...

Some of the issues are:

Currently each time I attempt to process a fx on a clip sonar crashes not the first time but second time i apply the same effect.    I have sent a crash report about concurrently apply efx to clip...

Also I now can no longer see all of my vst/dx/vst3 plugins (in my custom menu layout) when inserting an efx to clip. But can see these plugins when inserting dsp to track.

Now 8 bit midi data does sync with audio and keeps erratic timing

The first few midi notes sent to external source have delayed playback

When inserting a second instance of Virus Ti VST3 only midi channel 1 plays with sound all others dead audio via USB audio and Analogue Outs.

Automation for enable eq only functions when selected on that track

Sonar frequently crashes on start up

Sonar is no longer able to connect with Soundcloud/Upload (when logged in)

thnx...

ps love cakewalk and have been an avid user since cakewalk ver.2 when bundled with my turtle beach sound card and I know that new versions often have some glitches... :)

Hi Marcus

So a few basic points....

So as Craig says you've RESET and then rescanned the plugins?
You have disabled the 64 bit audio engine in Sonar?

Also

You've run Windows update
You are on the latest audio drivers and firmware?
You are on the latest drivers and firmware for your outboard gear?
You have patched to the latest versions of the plugins?
You've looked at your latency config set within Sonar and your sound interface.
When was the last time you look at latency with latency monitor?

I appreciate it might have been fine before you installed the update but please let us know when you've gone through all these... :).
Sorry still not telling you how to roll back ;)

Thanks

Alex

Only way to roll back is as you suggested yourself.
Either using Windows restore or uninstall Sonar and reinstall to x3b.

Darn cat out of bag, I strongly recommend though trying to resolve the issues without rollback....

Alex,

Yes all drivers, firmware. WinOS and efx/plugins are up to date and latency monitor have been viewed...

Also i have disabled 64 bit audio engine (although one main reason for using Sonar x3/x2/x1 is the 64bit audio engine and the ability to run 64bit plugins without truncation...)

I even rebooted with f8 in safe mode.. jk :p

Agreed. FYI it seems Windows has done a lot of updates lately. Not sure if that's a good thing (i.e., Sonar was interacting with broken parts of Windows) or a bad thing (Sonar hasn't been tested for compatibility with the changes in Windows). But hey, what do I know about code? [Answer: Not a whole lot.]
