I just discovered this feature in X3, and I absolutely love it!

Oh, and by the way, X3 must be the best DAW on the planet, period!

The new track colors feature is definitely nice and really useful too.

a lot of other color functions are working as well, not just track colors, but text color, buss text color, track focus colors.
they did good with this.

Me too. I love the way CW implemented track colors.

Massive improvements indeed !
Track templates are still not saving/restoring their colors though..
Think this was mentioned in another thread but can't seem to find it.
Is this on the X3D fix-list?

I saw many screenshots of the colors before getting X3, but it wasn't until I actually used them on my own screen did I see that they

1.  Looked less ugly
2.  Saw how much they will help AT A GLANCE discern what "section" tracks are in

I've always used folders to keep everything separated and have used track icons for as long as they have been available, but this really adds another level to the quick eying of a set of tracks to identify them.  Can't wait to get more into the use of X3 to find more gems like this that make a bigger difference than you thought they would.

Blades that is just how I view them. No pun intended. Sort of. They are brilliant!

I've been mentioning PT-like track colors for quite some time, so it's nice to actually see this in X3.  And I like that it's so easy to set them, and to use the downstream bus to control track color as Dan mentioned - pretty well thought out.

I find color icons easier to identity tracks than the new entirely/partially color-coded strips as far as the Track View goes. It would be nice if we could disable the color-coding in TV only. Sorry for being a wet blanket.
