Thinking of getting Drumagog for quick, easy kick and snare replacement. Anyone using it with X3 without issues? Like the Slate Trigger but, not an iLok fan. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I have Drumagog and SONAR X3. Here is what I have found... The Windows version of Drumagog is not 64 bit, only 32 bit. I have tried using JBridge, but had too many issues. So Until Drumagog puts out a 64 bit version, I cannot use it on my 64 bit Win7 computer. I do have an XP computer running in 32 bit and on that I do enjoy Drumagog very much.

I never understood the point of Drumagog. Even your not happy with the sound of the drums, why would you bother recording it?

Since I've never used it, maybe someone can point out why?

I can not recommend DrumaGog either. TBH, in my experience it's a terribly piece of software - but others are very happy with it so I'm only speaking for myself here. 32-bit or 64-bit, both we're pretty bad and difficult to work with.

I found an old copy of Drumtracker from Toontrack (discontinued but can be found on some shop shelves apparently) it's very different but I managed to transform kicks and snares from 12 songs to MIDI in a few hours and from there it was easy to drop the files into Sonar to trig Superior Drummer. Best of all, it takes just a few minutes to learn it;)

I love Drumagog....BUT......it's been nearly three years since they released version 5, there are still bugs, it's STILL 32 bit even though they've been promising a 64 bit version for over a year for Windows. To use it with SONAR as Sylvan states you have to spend a little extra $$ and get jBridge, as it doesn't play nice with Bitbridge in SONAR.

OK enough ranting on my part. Overall, when it works it does some really good things, has a nice library of samples, offers plug-in hosting so you can use a vst synth (has to be 32 bit) for drum samples if you like. Also, if you get a virtual MIDI cable from Loop Be MIDI you can have it generate a MIDI track (but SONAR X3 also does this with ARA integration).

Bottom line, despite my gripes with it's developers, it's still a great plug-in and once you learn what it can do, you'll use it often.

BTW Guitarpima, I rarely replace drums sounds 100%, I use Drumagog to augment the existing sounds with samples I create from those same tracks.
