Just to be clear, if we already own the latest version of Melodyne Editor (2.1.x), there is nothing to upgrade, correct?

scratch that.  I misunderstood at first read.  I thought they were offering an upgrade from single track to editor for only $49.

So if I have v2 of Editor will it be integrated via ARA?

Yup....I use it all the time....

Correct

That's the way I was reading it as well. I already have Essentials 2.1.1 so I am assuming that X3 would just scan it and integrate it into ARA functionality. I am hoping that down the line there is an update path from Essentials to Editor special for Sonar users.

Melodyne Single Track and Editor are 2 different products. Producer comes with Single Track 2.1.1

Single Track - Monophonic
Editor - Polyphonic

Seth, I don't think that's quite right.  Per the Celemony site:
"The Melodyne singletrack program family (i.e. editor, assistant, essential) will run on the following systems..."
I own Editor and when I download an update the pack it's always called 'Melodyne_Singletrack'.  I think that's probably the whole 'family' and your serial number determines which part(s) get unlocked.
I just want to be clear on this as I'm anxious not to get things screwed when I install X3!

Yes, sorry. It's all serial number based. If you have an Editor serial it unlocks polyphonic pitch correction. Producer will include Essential.

Here's a bit added info, this is my experience.

1) I have an ilok with an Editor license.
2) Install X3
3) Add a RegionFX (Melodyne)
4) Melodyne launches and looks for the license.
5) Unlocks to full polyphonic operation.

Yup...   Celemony renamed it to "single track" just to differentiate the Essentials/Assistant/Editor product from their multi-track Studio version (which is actually much older).

Okay... again I guess I gotta be the crank (and believe me I do not enjoy it). With all the leaks and innuendo could we pleeease get a definitive media release about X3? It's just silly at this point to hide the details and I think it would go a long way to re-establishing some trust/faith in the company.

And yes this addition does sound like good news because I hear Melodyne is a fine program but I bought Sonar as a DAW. Not repository of third party plugins (although it did help nudge me toward X2... primarily R-Mix).

Again, I am sorry for the crankiness and I know everyone is excited but let's get some facts and details now that the cat is out of the bag.

Or tell me to piss off.

Either way it would make me feel better.

kthxbye
