I read the Celemony page a couple of times, and I still feel like I'm not getting the point.
Is it saying we have to buy the $49 Melodyne upgrade to make the X3 ARA integration work?

According to Seth, Melodyne Essential will be a part (already integrated into) SONAR X3 Pro.

Okay... again I guess I gotta be the crank (and believe me I do not enjoy it). With all the leaks and innuendo could we pleeease get a definitive media release about X3? It's just silly at this point to hide the details and I think it would go a long way to re-establishing some trust/faith in the company.
 
And yes this addition does sound like good news because I hear Melodyne is a fine program but I bought Sonar as a DAW. Not repository of third party plugins (although it did help nudge me toward X2... primarily R-Mix).
 
Again, I am sorry for the crankiness and I know everyone is excited but let's get some facts and details now that the cat is out of the bag.

PS... although Melodyne is technically a plugin, ARA makes it so much more than that.   Think of it as a PRV for audio.

Correct, the $49 get you to the full Editor version.

Reading the link, the $49 sounds like it's just for people who own version 1 to upgrade to version 2, not to upgrade from whatever comes with X3 to Editor.

That is correct...it's for owners of Editor 1 to get Editor 2 so that it will work in X3...

The upgrade to Editor from Essential I think is like $249 retail...

Beepster, I am sure the official press release will go out as scheduled regardless of what is leaked.  Since the scheduled ship date is just three days away, I doubt you have to wait that long.

Yes, this is correct, I believe that was answered in another thread.  The upgrade from from Essentials to Editor is still the same as always.  I am hoping they offer a special deal to X3 owners at some point, I have wanted the full Editor program for quite a while, its a considerable investment, though.
