I've been waiting 15 years for Cakewalk to develop tempo mapping tools that don't suck.

Flexible and powerfulthe tempo mapping would be a great core functionality for a professional DAW.

Knowing how ARA integrates with tempo mapping so well highlights how frustrating it will seem to use circa 1993 tempo mapping tools.

Best regards,
mike

Then start your own thread to complain in, instead of dirtying up other peoples threads. This wasn't started so that you can have your own soapbox. I would review the updated TOS you just agreed to.

mike_mccueGee, I already have Melodyne Editor. Why would I want to buy Melodyne twice? ;-)

You can buy the base version and still get integrated Melodyne support if you'd like.

What do you mean when you say integrated support? Does that mean Cakewalk might fix a bug if it shows up?

I use Melodyne Editor in the clip fx bin when ever I want to. I always thought that was pretty well integrated.

When I bought Presonus Pro as a backup plan I didn't bother downloading the Melodyne stuff because I already own professional software.

Now it seems like I get to buy it for third time.

Plus I had to buy V-vocal even though it was sub par.

When is Tascam going to offer a streamlined professional package for the workers that don't want to pay for almost ware and already have everything thing they need but a reliable DAW?

Best regards,
mike

1. ARA is supported in all 3 flavors of SONAR X3, no ones forcing you to buy one with Melodyne if you don't want too. In fact you won't even have to look at the ProChannel (which we know you hate so much) if you buy the base version, which only includes a demo of melodyne.

2. ARA integration is far better than using it in the FX bin, light years ahead. In fact any new plugin that supports ARA should drop right into X3.

Why can't you post anything without being snarky, condescending, or trollish? Especially when we're trying to be helpful and positive.

Well said.

I hoped you might be able to leave it alone, mcq, just once, but you were too childish.  Grow up.

I must be missing the relationship between ARA and tempo mapping.

If they are unrelated, then I don't quite see the point bringing it up here.

But if the point is that you would rather they concentrate their development efforts on different functionality such as tempo mapping, while that may be a very fair point to make, I have found that repeatedly making the same argument rarely makes the argument stronger once you have communicated it to the best of your abilities.

In fact it often tends to make your audience place less importance on your arguments, no matter how legitimate they might be.

So is there any reason to keep Melodyne single track 2.1.1? When I upgrade I'll get it again right?  Shouldn't I put it up for sale on KVR now?

The updated TOS was so that we're more in line with our competitors forums and that we can help facilitate a better atmosphere.

If I understand correctly, X3 will come with Melodyne Single Track Essential.  If that's what you have now, selling it might be an option for you.  However, you may be shooing yourself in the foot on a possible future cross grade deal.  Also, I'm betting that the included version of Essential will be integrated into X3 and you won't be able to use it in another DAW like you can now.

I have Editor 2.1.1 and it should work just fine, (actually better), in X3.  ...or at least I hope so.  Looping in Melodyne would be great.

What is it with all the vitriol flying about?  X3 is a cause for celebration but some people seem to get over-excited and turn to temper flare ups and offence.  If you don't like Sonar then for heaven's sake just bugger off, simple.  This has got to be the nastiest forum I frequent and I really wish it wasn't so.  Seth and his colleagues have the patience of Job that's for sure.
